This is the Surgery Dad just had (reading on his discharge paperwork O_o) and what I need to get done.
It's similar to an angioplasty. They stick a balloon down your throat and inflate it to stretch the Esophagus.
Well not really it's just the precursor to the balloon, It's like a long flipping camera. I've no clue what they call the balloon procedure. You will get both in tandem when you're dealing with our condition. The Esophagogastroduodenscopy to look first, then the prodecure to do the job of stretching.
Only trouble, it does not last. This is the third time Dad has had this procedure done, and the Esophagus will always shrink back again.
I'm afraid of facing a lifetime (AND EXPENSE, this surgery is NOT CHEAP) of going every 2-3 years to get this done.
But damn could the word for the surgery be any longer? Doctor's must minor in tongue twisters in college.
