TITLE: Edelweiss
ARTIST: Yours Truly
WARNING: Cute Stuff
RATING: Tooth Decay Sweet G
CHARACTERS: HRE/Germany x N. Italy (Chibitalia)

SUMMARY: Sometimes a sketch comes out better than intended and rather than screw it up by messing with it anymore I figured I'd leave it alone. Sometimes less is so much more.

All done with just the pencil tool in Manga Studio. That's it. Simple.

Here's HRE (In my fan-verse he is also Germany/Will become Germany.) and N. Italy. (Chibitalia)

Non-Chibi (Cause my chibi's really suck.) Plus I really like drawing children.

I love the whole "They were always meant to be/Soul Mates" angle so here they are picking Edelweiss in a field being cute and adorable (and crossdressing thanks to Papa Austria. Really Austria did you never give the boy a bath?! LOL!)

I like this one best out of all your Hetalia art I've seen. I think because it is just the sketch--I tend to prefer sketches to coloured work for a lot of stuff, for some reason.

cleaning this one up and coloring it would have ruined it IMO. It would have killed all the emotion I managed to capture, I knew it was time to STOP fiddling with it at this point. Thank you.

I do agree on that!

It sometimes happens that one of the artists I follow will post a sketch as a WIP and then the finished colored work and I find myself wishing she had the perception you have.

Sometimes the emotions and energy captured when you do something quick and in the moment more than make up for any technical deficits that the artist may think exist and the "finished" work ends up being being merely pretty. I was tempted to explain this to an artist who posted about being puzzled why sometimes her sketches had more downloads and favorites than her finished pieces but I didn't know how to phrase it diplomatically.

Of course, sometimes the sketch and the finished piece are both excellent but in different ways and it's just a matter of preference.

I don't see anything in this that NEEDS fixing. It is perfect as is. And very, very sweet and cute without being saccharine.
