They totally deleted my tedchnical forum post because I "violated" tos...

What? The only thing in there was the facts and a phrase

"DELL = FAIL!"

I think they took offense to the truth and that thread was HELPFUL, the deleted the later posts that pretty much confirmed DELL FAILS.....

Trouble is, I cannot do a clean install, the upgrade disk the sent for windows 7 is just that, an UPGRADE OPTION only....

I need disk one to work, it has all the drivers on it. O_o

I just went ahead and skipped disk one... on a wing and a prayer. I manually backed-up files, used the Windows7 Adviser tool and manually removed any potential conflicting programs. (I noticed it was only DELL crap it was conflicting with. Dell Video Chat and Power DVD DX, two programs I have NEVER used so I just uninstalled them. Oh and iTunes, but you can re-install that afterwords. It only conflicts during setup only....) Then I just put in the windows7 Disk in and proceeded to do the upgrade with my fingers crossed.

It worked, thank Goodness. No loss of Date, everything transferred correctly, I tested my programs like Adobe PhotoShop CS4, Manga Studio EX 4.0, Poser 8, reinstalled iTunes... They all work. Dell's disk thankfully is not needed if you manually use the Adviser and remove potentially troublesome software yourself.

I'm now running Windows 7 and so far so good....
