Going on Disability

Well I've been off work now two weeks with what I THOUGHT was the cold from the seventh level of hell...

went to the Dr. today since I just cannot shake this thing... or so I thought this morning....

FUCKING WHOOPING COUGH! That has been like dormant for years in the USA since everyone (including myself) got vaccinated as babies for it...

apparently everyone's immunity is now wearing off and they are giving the vaccinations with the tetanus boosters now... Whooping Cough is back in the US in a big way...

There were 30 cases of Whooping Cough in the immediate county I live in last year...

Make it now 31!!!

I feel technically OKAY... except I cough CONSTANTLY I cannot talk like this cause I mean I am in coughing FRENZY over here. I'm fine for like 30 minutes and then
WHAM!!! I am coughing non-stop for 5 minutes until the dry coughing makes me fucking gag myself.

I am wearing depends fucking diapers 24/7 because my sphincter is totally CRAPPED OUT, my ribcage feels like a BUICK has run over me
and my lower back is in constant spasms because this cough just racks my whole fucking body.

The Dr. is putting me on disability cause:
2.) I Can't fucking talk to people on a phone hacking in their ear at work. Talking fucking MAKES ME COUGH.
3.) This cough could last six months... SIX FUCKING MONTHS (insert wailing and crying)

Now I am on antibiotics now that should kill the contagion (Whooping Cough is an inhaled bacteria) and the antibiotics should kill that...
I have a little tiny lung muscle relaxer cough pill that seems to be helping but the side effects are loopy. I'm dizzy and light headed and
I am stuck at home because while on this pill driving is prohibited unless I wanna pass out at the wheel and kill people.
Even if we kill the bacteria that caused this, for the coughing the doctor said it's too late and we can only try to suppress it until it finally goes away.
This bacteria I guess is NASTY and affects muscle tissue in the lungs (And being an asthmatic too? Can you say I am not a happy camper right now?)

So goodness knows how long this will last. I came down with it the day after we had the cookout for my b-day on the 19th
(So caro_t PLEASE if you start having a scratchy throat and what starts out seeming like a cold -- GET TO THE DOCTOR ASAP! It takes 2 weeks to incubate so if you've got it,
you'll start showing signs any day. I hope I didn't infect you. WAH!)

Same goes for Jason and Randy and the babies and about a dozen other people we had over on the Saturday.

It really started the night (the 19th) when Caro and I were bullshitting and my throat started to go wonky... I chalked it up to me gabbing like I always do when I'm with her. It's kind of normal for me to bullshit for hours and then have a nasty throat the next day from never letting her get a word in edgewise as I tell her a gazillion plot ideas.

But not this time, it laid me *LOW* in a big big way.

Thankfully, the contagion should be gone by y-con time, the cough probably won't be, but I'll still be able to go and just not talk a whole lot while I'm there... (A quiet D? What will people think?)

Money will be a big issue though *le sigh* I will be living on PB&J no doubt.

It's like I turned 35 on the 27th and the warranty expired damn it!

Aw D ;3; I think my Neighbor has it too - but I haven't been around him - but it also may be Bronchitis because he's a smoker - all I know is they say it's a dry cough.

I really hope the kids didn't get it.

Does sucking candey or lozenges help bring the tickle down? Maybe warm beverages - may be try drinking with a straw to restrict air flow and not agitate it.

I've had annoying coughs that lingered for months, so I know a little bit about how you must be feeling. I hope you'll have a speedy recovery.

A quiet D? What will people think?

We'll still love you. ♥

I had heard that whooping cough was starting to be more prevalent. Not very, but more than before. I really wonder if it's because the pollution is getting so bad. I think our lungs are getting weaker.

*hugs* I wish I could come and take care of you. Frankly I don't give a flying rat's ass if you're contagious. I doubt I would get it and if I did, my immune system probably needed it.

I know you have it bad healthwise anyway, but this is awful. Six months???

Well hey, you can draw while you cough right? We'll just expect cute yaoi boys with enlarged craniums or giant squiggly peni.

Oh man, that's just awful. I hope you recover as quickly as possible. My mom has had coccimeningitis since August last year (which is derived from valley fever) so it's kinda in the same boat. The doctor said she's lucky to be alive. o_o;

*hugs* Geez, that sucks. I'm sure the asthma isn't helping to speed the recovery along either.

Poor thing. Hope you get to feeling better. Don't want you too sick for very long. Don't want ya sick at all, but you know what I mean.

Take care. If there's anything I can do to make things easier, just let me know. Entertainment or anything.
