I'm just a fangirl of yours, don't mind me....

*was born in 85*

Tiananmen Square means nothing to them.
Three history classes, _three_ for the Tienamen Square

Atari predates them, as do vinyl albums.
I had an Atari, then it broke ;_;

The statement "You sound like a broken record" means nothing to them. (They have never owned a record player.)
But I did! And several small records with kiddie songs

They have likely never played Pac Man and have never heard of Pong.
Pac Man rocks my world, it beats all those other new games anyday, woo-hoo

They have always had an answering machine.
I _still_ don't have one

Most have never seen a TV set with only 13 channels, nor have they seen a black and white TV.
For three years we had a black and white tv with 6 channels, only two I understood (the others being in French -_-)

They cannot fathom not having a remote control.
In those same three years, either my brother or I had to get up to change the channel *sigh*

Roller skating has always meant inline for them.
My first skates, so pretty, so pink, so _not_ inline

Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.
Oh we made that in first grade, in a pan! Fun for all!

They do not care who shot J.R. and have no idea who J.R. was.
I never watched the show, I am too young to have known it, but I do know J.R. and the song the Cranberries have about his being shot :)

They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.
The first stories I wrote, when I was seven, were on typewriter *so proud* it made such a racket XD

So, well, honestly, you're not old. I hope you have many more years to enjoy :)

THEY WOULD HAVE NOT A CLUE WHAT TO DO WITH A ROTARY PHONE
Strange, I adore my grandpa's old rotary phone. It makes cute noise when the dial turns ^^

OH...my... FUCKING.... GAWD!!!!

My Grandma *STILL* has a rotary phone.

And it's still the clearest sounding phone I've ever used.

AND I LOVE JIFFY POP! (I still buy it) O_O

Or air poppers, remember those? What came between stove and microwave the RONCO AIR POPPER!

Bland lifeless popcorn.

Ha! I guess that makes me a generation older than you 'cause my PARENTS still use their rotary phone.

I made a call from their house for the first time in YEARS a couple of months ago and had almost forgotten what to do with it. But that thing is going to last about forever, and they do have another phone for when they need to do touchtones, so why not?

And for extra points, it's avocado green!

Hey, happy birthday, babe!

So do mine. :) They have one on their porch. My dad had one from the 1940s and wanted to throw it out when it quit working but a customer who happened to collect such old things was in his shop at the time and nearly fainted when he handed it to him for free.

I grew up with a LOT of this old stuff, partly for financial reasons, and partly because "if it still works, use it"!

GAVE IT AWAY?

*faints*

Suckers with more money than sense Antique Shop Owners/Patrons pay bookoo bucks for that shite.

Never one to turn down a fools money if he/she is willing to give it to me for JUNK!

No KIDDING!!! Dad just doesn't realize the value people place on junk. And that's what he calls it, "junk," even though he's witnessed first hand the wonders of culling fortunes through ebay. The guy even offered him money for the phone, but he gave it to him anyway.

MEDIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*flatline----------------------------------------------------*

I'm reminded of a Steve Miller song lyric...

"Go on, take the money and run...."

AND he's the one who's always telling me about "a fool and his money," usually in reference to my brother or me buying something stupid. Obviously it can go either way. (Darnit, I wish I had thought of using that line on him at the time...)
